This is one of the largest traditional craft experience facilities in Japan, where visitors can appreciate and experience traditional Shizuoka crafts that have been handed down since the time of Ieyasu Tokugawa. There are also stores related to traditional crafts and a café using local ingredients, where visitors can spend a relaxing time.
Tour of the facility
At Takumi Inn, you will first visit the facility’s permanent exhibition. Here, traditional Shizuoka crafts are displayed in a cohesive manner, giving visitors a general overview of the area.
If there is a thematic exhibition going on, you will visit that as well.

Visitors will experience Suruga Bamboo Sen-suji-zaiku.
You can choose from a variety of pieces such as a small container, coaster, wind chime, etc. by assembling thin bamboo strips. The instructor will guide you carefully, so don’t worry even if you are not familiar with the craft.
Traditional craftsmen are also present, so you can interact with them.
