【One day bus tour】”Gastronomy of Minamiboso City”, Chiba on January 21st

This tour is themed “Gastoronomy of Minamiboso City”, where you will find and experience food related places in Minamiboso, Chiba by bus. It features a special knife worship ceremony only held 3 times a year and will be specially done for this tour at the one and only shrine worshiping the God of Cuisine. Participants also can enjoy “Hakko” or fermentation cooking class.

Itinerary

A knife worship ceremony at Takabe Shrine

This ceremony will be held at Takabe Shrine where is only dedicated to the god of cuisine in Japan. This ceremony has long history from more than 1000 years ago. Participants can see the skillful technique of fish cutting without touching the fish at all. It’s usual held only three times per year, but it will be specially done for this tour.

Lunch at Yamana house

Participants will enjoy locally caught fish/meat and fresh vegetables out in the serene nature of Minamiboso.

“Hakko” or fermentation cooking class

Hakko(fermented) food is a traditional Japanese technique, said to contribute to its longevity. Participants can learn the process of fermentation and try to cook fermented foods with a specialist!
